Standard repair procedure for vertical pumps

Pump Preparation

1- Dis-assemble the pump completely.

2- Sand Blast Bowls.

3- Sand Blast packing Box.

4- Sand Blast Impellers.

5- Sand Blast Discharge Head.

6- Clean all other parts.

7- Inspect all the parts completely.

8- Polish and straightened all shafts.

9- Polish and straightened Threaded Couplings.

10- Prepare report of As-Is finding.

Impeller

11- Weld repair cavitations and erosion on impeller vanes.

12- Profile impeller vanes smooth.

13- Weld repair impeller bore.

14- Coat Impeller with Belzona coating or equal if needed.

15- Machine impeller bore to OEM design.

16- Dynamic balance impeller to 4 W/N.

Suction Bell

17- Weld eroded registration fit.

18- Machine registration fit for design clearance.

19- Supply and install new bearings.

Bowl

20- Machine female registration fit for design clearance to suction male fit.

21- Weld male registration fit to column pipe and machine to design clearance.

22- Supply and install bronze bearings, and rubber bearings.

Column/ Discharge Head

23- Machine eroded registration fit for inter-bowl and stuffing box to establish design clearance.

24- Weld Registration fit. Machine registration fit to design clearance to discharge head.

New Parts

25- Supply new pump-shaft in 416 SS material.

26- Supply new line-shaft in 416 SS material.

27- Supply new Spiders.

28- Supply new Spider Bearings.

29- Supply new Bowl Bearings.

30- Supply new Packing Box Bearing.

31- Supply new packings.

32- Supply new copper lines and fittings.

33- Supply new fasteners, fittings, Oil Seal & O-Rings.

Pump Assembly & start-up

34- Assemble pump completely.

35- Paint pump.

36- Provide as build report.
